Oliver Spencer AW19 Alpine Journey
This season Oliver Spencer heads off to Chamonix in the French Alps, inspired by both the region’s natural beauty and a bygone era of elegant travel. Influenced by traditional alpine utility wear, this collection mixes in the brand’s classic twist on contemporary style to create a more mature, luxurious range.

The sharper lines associated with tailoring merge with a softer, deconstructed silhouette inspired by the alpine terrain and the regional architecture sitting within the landscape.
Featured throughout the collection, suiting is reimagined in a relaxed fashion; trousers and jackets in sumptuous fabrics combine in a range of styles and even the bomber jacket is paired with matching trousers. A classic double-breasted overcoat in wool adds elegance and comfort for the colder months.
High-waisted, pleat trousers are paired with oversized patchwork shirts creating an easy, yet timeless, feel. An array of knitwear features throughout the collection; basket-knit rollnecks, chunky winter cardigans and classic sweaters, all made in Portugal from natural yarns, come in a selection of subtle colours that can be worn alone or underneath a jacket or coat.
With a particular focus on comfort and quality, fabrics such as tactile velvets, eco wools, heavy corduroys, soft knits and wool seersuckers feature throughout the collection. Influenced by the local scenery, natural colours such as rich cobalt blues, burnt mustard and earthy greens have been used to subtly accent gentle beiges, ochres and ecru.
Elsewhere the collection is an ode to pattern, whether it be traditional check shirting, mismatch ginghams and stripes, or flattering dogtooth whilst bold, graphic patterns appear on knitwear and outerwear.
