"Each scent is an extension of myself, and holds within the power of seduction. My approach to creating these fragrances is the same as my approach to styling." -Carine Roitfeld

Through seven captivating fragrances personifying seven unforgettable lovers in seven iconic cities

- Aurélien for Paris, George for London, Kar-Wai for Hong-Kong, Lawrence for Dubaï, Orson for New York, Sebastian for Buenos Aires, and Vladimir for St. Petersburg-, Carine evokes the lifetime of adventure and sensuality that has guided her to the furthest reaches of the world.

Seductive and emblematic like the men who inspired them, the fragrances symbolize her insatiable quest for romance, passion, experience and love.

‘I consider scent the most defining style signature, containing within each molecule the power of identity and the magic of seduction. I created each fragrance the same way I create a look, evoking fantasy, character and sensuality in each and every detail. As the notion of ambiguity attracts and inspires me, I designed a genderless collection of fragrances for those of us who dare to be desired,’ -Carine Roitfeld.

To get the right scent, Roitfeld, along with her son and business partner, Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, collaborated with perfumers Aurélien Guichard, Pascal Gaurin, and Yann Vasnier, each of whom worked on different scents.

“I needed artists who could understand where I was coming from and where I wanted to go, what I wanted to express,” Roitfeld said.

While each “lover” sets a different mood, all are wearing the same uniform: an elegant, black bottle with an ergonomic, hollowed-out shape that’s very satisfying to hold, complete with silver accents and a silver name tag. It’s a very sexy outfit, which is not entirely surprising considering it was designed by a woman whose trademark look often involves stilettos and a hefty serving of black.

"This collection has been an eight-year journey filled with passion, excitement, and many people from different moments in life who I deeply respect," said Roitfeld in a press release. "As an editor, I know how difficult it can be to translate a scent through pictures and words, which is why I wanted each parfum to tell a story, similar to how I approach each fashion shoot."

Although each formulation stands well on its own, my favourite is Kar-Wai, so, today I proudly present to you Kar-Wai that represents my personal character and emotions.

"There's a lot of soul in each perfume. When you create something with so much honesty, it feels almost like being naked because you're baring your soul." -Carine Roitfeld

Kar-wai is a unisex perfume that it was launched last year and it was created by perfumer Pascal Gaurin. The perfume is named after film director Wong Kar-Wai, who Roitfeld says embodies the spirit of Hong Kong.

Kar-Wai's floral, woody aroma is the perfect blend of osmanthus and a leathery, smoky longjing tea note - a sensual ode to Carine's beloved Hong Kong destination. A fragrance that offering the forceful contrast of violence and sensuality. The exploration of another continent.

Vetiver creates imperceptible fluidity. Bergamot, cardamom, Turkish rose and Arabian jasmine nourish the intrigue. Musk notes and a Saffiano captive intensify the mystery.

The tinted glass vessel and polished silver plaque make it ideal for displaying in your dressing room!
