Inspired by the grand cafés of Mittel-Europe, The Delaunay is an all-day café-restaurant located on the corner of Aldwych & Drury Lane. Open from early in the morning until late at night, seven days a week.
Breakfast at The Delaunay includes full English breakfasts, baked goods from their own pastry kitchen, all manner of eggs, as well as homemade mueslis, fresh fruits and an extensive tea and coffee menu. Starting at a bright 7am from Monday to Friday, and at a more refined 8am on Saturdays & 9am on Sundays.
We would recommend reserving in advance, but a certain number of tables are always available for walk-ins on the day.
The Delaunay's Viennese Afternoon Tea offers assorted sandwiches and savouries, poppy seed Gugelhupfs with apricot jam & whipped cream, (traditional fruit scones with strawberry jam & clotted cream are also available), a selection of classic Viennese cakes and choice of teas or coffees. All their pastries are made on the premises, with an ever-changing selection of cakes and slices, such as Sachertorte, Battenberg and Linzer Torte.
The Delaunay Viennese Afternoon Tea is £19.75 per person. Those wanting a lighter, or a more celebratory alternative, can choose the Cream Tea at £9.50 per person or The Delaunay Champagne Tea at £29.75 per person. They are also pleased to offer a variation for their vegan and sugar-free guests, as pictured here. They only ask that you please request this option at the time of booking.
Finally, there is a wide choice of dishes from salads to seafood and café classics such as goulash, beef Stroganoff and steaks, as well as their special selection of Wieners and Schnitzels. An extensive vegetarian menu is also offered, and a tempting array of cakes, slices, desserts and ice cream coupes follows.
Ideally located for pre- and post-theatre meals, they take table bookings up to 11.30pm Monday - Saturday, and up to 10.30pm on Sundays.
For a special occasion or corporate event, The Delaunay also offers the option of enjoying lunch and dinner in our Private Dining Room.
