Stella McCartney Men’s & Women’s SS19 Collection
Celebrating their playful spirit and irreverent style, Stella McCartney revealed the Women’s Spring and Men’s Spring Summer 2019 collections at a garden party in Milan’s Magenta neighbourhood. Amongst summertime themed vignettes and lawn games, the collection played off the relationship between the Stella woman and man with looks hitting our quintessential codes.
At their first presentation in Milan for four years, there was lawn bowling, horseshoe games that nod to British garden culture, live statues as well as streaming of the World Cup. There was also pizza and spritzes enjoyed by the guests, and exclusive entertainment by burgeoning London talent: songwriter Cosmo Pyke, British rapper Nadia Rose, and DJ Fabienne, reaffirming our natural connection to new music.
Guests including Isabella Ferrari, Francesco Vezzoli, Lapo Elkan, Luka Sabbat, Levante and Rinka celebrated with us in true Stella style.
The spring 2019 Women’s collection comprises the brand’s signature style, felt through masculine tailoring, delicate lace, decorative prints and touches of skin-free-skin, all of which is set off in a colour palette that celebrates spring with pinks, blues, sand and shimmering white.
Anchoring sustainability within the collection, they have created a transparent material similar to PVC, but without the harmful effects to the environment – a milestone for them. This PU material is used to construct statement transparent bags and embellished pearl and stud shoes.
The menswear mood for Spring Summer 2019 continues to evolve and explore British traditions, ageless modernity and effortless silhouettes. A new bohemian feel brings a playful attitude to the seasonal wardrobe of the Stella man; translated through colourful patchworks and scarf prints repurposed for jackets.
In a playful dichotomy between modern and classic styles, traditional heritage meets sportswear and bohemia: see tailoring in classic checks and mélange blues given a sportswear twist; pressed trousers with elasticated waits; and funnel neck tracksuits.
The Women’s Spring 2019 collection hits stores in November; while the Men’s Spring Summer 2019 collection lands from December.
