Chanel Cruise 2019
For the Cruise show, Karl Lagerfeld imagined a decor on the scale of the Grand Palais in Paris. Under its glass nave, the "La Pausa" ocean liner lies moored along the quay. He also presented the Cruise 2018/19 collection as nighttime fell over "La Pausa", the CHANEL liner moored in the Grand Palais in Paris.

This season, Karl Lagerfeld infuses silhouettes with the air of the Mediterranean Sea. Echoing the name of the villa Gabrielle Chanel built, perched in Roquebrune‑Cap‑Martin on the Riviera, "La Pausa" is printed on the buttons of tweed jackets, bracelets and sweaters in the Cruise 2018/19 collection.

This season, models wearing a seafaring-inspired beret are poised to embark aboard "La Pausa". Shaped without seams, it creates a pure, curved line. Supple, in textured tweed sometimes embroidered with sequins, it harmonizes with the looks for added attitude. At times in solid white, at others in white cross-hatched with blue or a tricolor of white, coral and apricot, it reflects the Cruise collection’s summery inspiration.

Kristen Stewart, Lily‑Rose Depp and Margot Robbie were among the guests at the Cruise 2018/19 show in Paris. They discovered Karl Lagerfeld’s Cruise 2018/19 collection under the glass nave of the Grand Palais, transformed into a cruise ship terminal for the occasion.
